Over 140 years ago, the first known Lebanese immigrant, Ibrahim Abou Nader, set foot in Montreal. He arrived with nothing but his hands, his faith, and the stories of a homeland. He worked as a peddler, walking miles through snow-covered streets, learning a new language, adjusting his accent, adapting his dreams.
What he truly carried was Lebanon — not just in objects, but in the way he adapted, survived, and built a life. That story of reinvention and cultural resilience lives on today — not only in homes and names, but now in cinema.
Lebanon Cinema Days continues his journey — turning that same spirit of survival into celebration, and that same adaptability into connection. Where once our ancestors sold goods to belong, today we screen films to be understood.
Over nine years ago, Beirut Film Society brought Lebanese cinema to Canada through a pioneering platform. After years of cultural contribution and community-building, and in light of growing concerns around transparency and artistic integrity, Beirut Film Society made the clear and conscious decision to move forward independently — grounded in purpose and ethical values.
Lebanon Cinema Days in Canada is not a beginning nor an end. It is a renewal — a movement where films carry diplomacy, stories breathe resilience, and Beirut Film Society stands firm as the cultural compass that connects nations through cinema.
To transform the Lebanese immigrant journey into a cinematic celebration — connecting Lebanon and Canada through films shaped by adaptability, resilience, and identity.
We don’t just screen films; we document memory. Through cultural diplomacy and storytelling, we give voice to those who crossed continents and generations — and invite new audiences into that dialogue.
To build the most respected Lebanese-Canadian film platform in North America — one that fosters trust, nurtures talent, celebrates cultural identity, and serves as a cinematic home for dialogue between peoples, generations, and worlds. We envision a movement where cinema doesn’t just entertain — it educates, unites, heals, and negotiates understanding. This is not only a festival. This is cultural diplomacy in motion.
This new platform reclaims and expands on the original vision — with a stronger foundation of accountability, cultural legitimacy, and community-centered programming. Backed by Beirut Film Society’s global credibility and deep ties to Lebanon’s film ecosystem, Lebanon Cinema Days in Canada promises a vibrant, transparent, and forward-thinking future.
Lebanon Cinema Days is for all those who carry Lebanon in their hearts — and all those ready to discover it for the first time, from Canada to USA to the UK, and to all the corners of the world.

This is your space. Your lens. Your story.
Born from a refusal to compromise integrity, we stand for honest partnerships, clear governance, and professional standards.
We carry the voice of our ancestors and the energy of our youth. One does not replace the other — they rise together.
Like the immigrants who came before us, we adapt, rebuild, and reimagine. Our resilience is our signature.
Being Lebanese is not limited to geography. It is a language, a rhythm, a smell, a memory — we celebrate it wherever it lives.
Films don't end at the credits. They start conversations, inspire action, and build understanding. We bring communities together beyond the screen.
Cinema is our ambassador. We believe stories can accomplish what politics often cannot — human connection.
