A film is an excuse to be in a room.

About 270,000 Lebanese Canadians live in this country, and most of them are not in Montréal. They are in Windsor, Halifax, Waterloo — a suburb where nothing in their language has ever been on a real cinema screen. We go there anyway. Your business is how.

Why this exists

People arrive on their own, and leave having met.

Not a streaming link. A booked room, a projector, a film people talked about back home, and often the person who made it. What happens next is the entire point: parents bring children who have never heard a full cinema laugh in Arabic, and their Canadian neighbours get a way into the culture that is not the news.

Everything else — the tickets, the sponsors, the volunteers, the paperwork — exists so that evening happens one more time, in one more city.

That is what a sponsorship buys. Not a logo on a wall. One more night, in one more city.

A full house applauding at the 2025 festival
Montréal, 2025. Not the room — the people in it. That is what your name pays for.
One night, last October

The room, the people in it, and what we put on the stage.

Every photograph on this page is from the 2025 festival. None of it is stock.

What your name actually does

Two places, all night, in every photograph anyone takes.

Who runs it

Almost nobody here is paid.

Nine city teams — Montréal, Ottawa, Toronto, Halifax, Vancouver, Windsor and the rest — take the tickets, run the doors, drive the guests and clear the room at one in the morning. Students, lawyers, dentists, engineers. They do it because it is theirs.

It is also why a sponsorship goes further here than it does almost anywhere else: what you give is spent on the screen and the room, not on the staff running them.

Last season's coalition

Everyone who made 2025 happen, by what they gave.

A presenting sponsor and an airline. A limousine company and a florist. A national broadcaster and a dental clinic in Laval. Nobody was too small, and every one of them is named — 72 businesses in all.

Where you fit

Whether you are presenting a film or driving our guests to the red carpet, there is a place for you on our stage.

The Ottawa chapter

The Ottawa chapter

Ten Ottawa businesses backed their own city’s evening and shared the screen in front of it. You do not need a national budget to be in the room.

If you make something, serve something, or move people about, there is a version of this that fits you.

How it works now

No back and forth. Your own account.

It takes a minute and asks for three things: your name, your company, an email. Inside you will find what every package costs and what it commits us to in writing — then you choose the city and the evening you want and book it.

Your quotation, your invoice, your logo files and your signed agreement stay in one place. Pay by card, by Interac e-Transfer, or half now and half after the festival once the attendance figures are in front of you. Nothing is committed by looking, and there is no payment step you can reach by accident.

The packages

From the whole festival to one evening in your own neighbourhood.

There are nine, and listing them here would only turn this page into a price list. They run from carrying the festival's name for the year, through presenting a single city's opening ceremony, down to a modest package for a small business that wants its own neighbourhood to know it was there. One is for what you make rather than what you spend. One is for anything the other eight do not cover.

They are all inside, with the figures beside them.

Who we programme with

Your name sits alongside 12 festivals on four continents.

We exchange films, juries and audiences with these. It is why a première in Montréal is seen in Beirut, Sydney and São Paulo — and why a Lebanese filmmaker living in Canada gets shown at home.

This is a non-profit, and it belongs to the community. Your feedback matters more to us than your patience.

We have spent the past year building this festival a proper platform — to sell tickets, issue invoices and keep records the way the best-run organisations in Canada do. If something we did last year fell short of that, tell us. We would far rather hear it than not.

Rather ask a person?

Ask us anything.

You do not need an account to ask a question. Somebody reads every message and replies, usually within one working day.

All proceeds go to presenting the festival: venue hire, film licensing, subtitling, and bringing our filmmakers to Canada.
